![]() This is the first time I’m assigning more than one song to a year. With such depressing news of volcanoes, basketball stars, royal families, elections, typhoons, pandemic, government response to the pandemic… I stayed afloat and upbeat with these three songs. I have not one, but THREE songs I’d like to remember 2020 by. And guess what, if it isn’t obvious yet with some recent posts. One of collective trauma… shared by billions of people due to the pandemic. Of course 2020 was geared to be the opposite. It was a year about trying to do my best and having fun. Plus, as SUNMI frolics across the video, punching the air, thrusting her thighs… I thought that’s a fair representation of my 2019 (sans the thighs). With a traditional Korean horn instrument as a signature sound in the background. Why? In previous years, the songs were usually moody. For the record, my favourite song from 2019 was “LALALAY” by South Korean pop star, SUNMI. For some reason I couldn’t find last year’s (probably it was sitting in drafts and got purged). “Like everything in life, you can turn a perceived negative into a positive if your mind is right and trying to attack today and not yesterday.Since I started this blog, I’ve always had my personal “song of the year”. ![]() “ I think it’s an invaluable lesson,” McDaniel said of how his team dealt with last year’s injury situation. I expect that experience will come in handy this year. Last year taught the Dolphins they can persevere, and even excel through rough injury situations. So you’ve got to think Fangio has something brewing, and when you combine that with the cornerback depth and this team’s mentality, they should be OK until Ramsey returns. ![]() “He’s a mastermind he’s got a lot up his sleeve and I’m excited to see where it goes,” Chubb said. On the either hand, listen to Chubb, who played in Denver when Fangio was head coach, talking about Fangio on Friday. Recall Howard saying they don’t know what Fangio is “cooking up,” but it’ll be something good.įrom that standpoint, Ramsey is a crushing injury. Recall Fangio saying he’d dreamed up some new defensive ideas last year while taking a year away from the game. ![]() There’s a good chance he’s scrapping a major part of his initial defensive plan and going with a less creative and more conventional approach. It’s a substitution that’s got to have defensive coordinator Vic Fangio going crazy. Now, the Dolphins look to cornerbacks such as Kader Kohou, Noah Igbinoghene and Cam Smith to replace Ramsey. ![]() The Dolphins lost one of the league’s top cornerbacks, and they potentially lost the ability to lock down two opposing wide receivers at the same time as they’d have had Ramsey and fellow Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard on the field together. Last season showed this is a tough-minded, no-excuses crew. This team’s mental fortitude is ahead of its physical skill level, and that’s meant as a credit to the team’s mentality and not a shot at its talent. I expect the same from this year’s Dolphins team. Credit general manager Chris Grier, McDaniel, scouts, the front office, and most of all, the players because, after all, it’s a player’s league. Last year’s Dolphins team had a strong mentality and a good attitude. Chris Perkins: You root for guys such as Dolphins tackle Kendall Lamm ![]()
